Comprising of duplexes to very large apartment complexes, are billed bimonthly based on a flat rate of $54 per unit, per month.
Commercial Accounts
All commercial accounts are billed bimonthly, based on the previous year's water consumption. The formula for calculating commercial billing is based on $54 for the first 750 cubic feet per month, plus an additional $7.00 for each 100 cubic feet thereafter. The new water consumption figures are collected from the various water districts and entered into the billing system each year in January, wherein accounts are billed for the period of January and February of the new year on March 1st.
Payments by Renters
The District does not bill renters directly. All bills will be sent to the owners of the property or to a designated management company. Due to the high cost of lien filings, it is important that the owners of the property receive the bills for their rental property, as the responsibility of payment is the owner's. Liens are filed against owners, not renters. The district will continue to bill renters who occupy commercial property only. The sewer bill for residential properties is a fixed amount each year, and an owner can consider that when establishing the monthly rent.
